What size of glass is your post designed for?
The Panoramic Deck Posts glass panel railing system, is designed for 3/8” tempered glass.
Can I use ¼” glass?
No, our post is engineered for 3/8” glass. ¼” glass railing will have a top or bottom rail vs. our frameless glass railing system.
What type of material is the Panoramic Deck Post manufactured from? Steel or aluminum?
The Panoramic Deck Post is manufactured from extruded aluminum.
I want to install a glass deck railing system on a concrete deck. Can I use your post?
The Panoramic Deck Post is shipped with 4” long lag bolts. If you are installing the post onto concrete, please inform us when you place your order and we will ship your order with color matched concrete screws.
What type of paint finish does the Panoramic Deck Post have?
The Panoramic Deck Post is powder coated using a three-step process. The aluminum is first cleaned and then a super durable powder is sprayed on to the post electrostatically before it is baked in an oven at 450 degrees. This process is what allows the highest degree of wear-resistance to your painted products. This will provide a superior finish on your glass balcony railing.
What are the dimensions of the Panoramic Deck Post?
The Panoramic Deck Post is 2 ½” in diameter. This applies to both styles of posts. The base plate is 3/8” thick and 4 ½” square. The Wall Mount post is 2 ½” wide and 1 ¾” deep.
How can I find out what the glass will cost for my glass deck railing system?
Our post system uses 3/8” tempered glass. For budget purposes, call a local glass company or a company that installs frameless glass showers (they also use 3/8” tempered glass). If you are installing a 36” high railing, get an estimate on 33” high (glass sits 3” off the ground) x 52” (posts are spaced 54” max apart) glass panels. I always call 3 companies and pick the middle price.
I want to install a glass deck railing but I have stairs on my deck. Can the Panoramic Deck Post be installed on stairs?
The Panoramic Deck Post can be installed on stairs. The post would be installed on the bottom stair tread and the glass would be measured taking in consideration the angle as explained in the installation video. The 36” post is most common in the US, but when installing on stairs, we recommend ordering the 42” post to compensate for the rise of the stairs. The posts can always be cut down if needed. We believe that this is the most versatile post of all the glass deck railing systems on the market today.
I live on the ocean, will your post rust?
Powder coated aluminum is a better choice than steel that rusts easily. If you are in an area that is prone to salt spray or are located within one mile of any salt water coast line, we recommend monthly inspections of your glass balcony and monthly cleaning may be required if any salt build-up is detected.
What is the warranty?
The Panoramic Deck Post has a limited warranty. The warranty certifies that the Panoramic Deck Post will be covered for a period of up to 10 years from the date of purchase on any defects in material. The warranty also ensures that the powder coating will not crack, peel or delaminate for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase.
